What should my child wear?Gym wear or comfy clothing is suitable to begin with and then once settled you may order the uniform.

Do we have to wait until a new term to join?No you can start at any point during the term. Just contact us to check that classes are running that week.

From what age are children allowed to join the school?Children from the age of 3 regularly join the school. Typically pre school age children will start by attending our Tiny Toes Ballet class of Tuesday evenings at 5.15pm.

Do you cater for children with special needs?All children are welcome at the school, including children with disabilities or special needs, both principals have had lots of experience working with special needs and our principal Kelly actually works in a special needs school. Please contact us to discuss this in further detail to accommodate yours childs needs.

I’ve never been to Connect Studios before, where do I start?"Have a look at our classes on our timetable tab, Choose a few classes you would like to try, or if you need help deciding, our friendly dance experts are on hand to help you to choose the best class for you. Once you’ve decided, just book a free weeks pass on the phone, in person or on our website and then come along and give it a go! As our classes are drop-in there will always be someone else new in the class too. If you find you really enjoy coming on a regular basis you can take advantage of our multi-buy offers.

I’ve never danced before, do you need to have any previous dance experience to attend a class?"No not at all! We have classes to suit all abilities, from complete beginners to classes that are suitable for all so you are welcome to come along even if you’ve never danced before. If you do have previous experience and are looking for more of a challenge then we do also have classes for intermediate and advanced levels. If in doubt, just ask one of our dance experts to help guide you to the best class for you either in person or by sending us an email.

Can I leave my child in their class and collect them later?Yes, for classes where children attend without an adult, parents/carers are welcome to leave the building and collect their children after class. We will have your contact details on file at school incase of any emergencies.

I already attend another school for some classes; may I join your school for lessons?Yes of course, we want our children to learn as much as they can as every teacher is different. We are not a competitive school, we simply want to do something good for our community.

How much are the classes?Please see reception for exact pricing but you on average between £4-5 a class. We also have offers if you a number of classes.

Is it weekly or block payments?All parents/carers will receive an invoice weekly or monthly. We ask that this is paid before the commencement of the classes.

Do you offer a free trial class?Yes we do. Once you have had your free trial you will be charged at the same rate as everyone else, Weekly invoice or Monthly.

Do you have children’s party packages?Yes! We offer a range of fun party packages and even the option to create your very own unique party experience. Find more info on our party tab or email us for a quote.

Do you have dance classes during the school holidays?Yes we do but Connect Studios shuts down for a number of holiday In the year (Please ask for our yearly timetable)

Do you offer private tuition?Yes we do indeed. They run for 30 minute costing £10 each or an hour for £20.

May I watch the lessons?In our experience, children relax, pay attention and enjoy the lessons better without a parent or carer watching as it can be distracting. We do however hold presentation classes at the end of each term for parents, grandparents etc to watch a class and the children can perform in our bi-annual showcase.

Is it just for girls?Definitely not. We have boys all the way through the school and have had several male pupils who are our principal dancers. The boys work is very strong, athletic and great fun. Lots of top football clubs use dance as an additional training technique with good reason.

Do you do shows?Yes Connect students have plenty of opportunities to perform in shows, such as our 2 yearly shows, public events and competitions throughout the year.

I have younger children with me, is there somewhere we can wait?"Yes, we have a large waiting area with hot drinks and snacks available so bringing younger siblings along is not a problem.

Does my child have to be toilet trained?No, we understand that children develop at different rates and that some may still be in nappies or pull ups, all we ask is that if your child is being toilet trained you let us know.

Are the dance teachers qualified?All our dance teachers are qualified with years of professional work between them All our staff hold current DBS certificates also.

Do we have to pay for missed classes?As you have already payed for all the classes upfront, payment for missed classes is taken. (You receive a yearly planner for holidays and can book one weeks grace holiday)

Do they have to buy a uniform after the trial?We do have a recommended uniform, please see the class that your child is interested in for specific details as it differs from grade to grade and dance style to dance style. We usually recommend that for the first few weeks they wear their own clothes and after that buy the uniform. Our receptionists can help you out with all the details.

Do the children have to do exams?No they do not; although it is a fantastic experience and great for confidence building and rewarding after all their hard work. Once they have completed an exam they get the chance to partake in our exam presentation evenings to be awarded their certificate and medals in front of their family and friends. If the children do not wish to partake in exams then they will move up with their friends at the end of the year.
